The definition of Fullspeed
First: I claim the thread's title as a trackname... :p

On TMX many people had their very own definition of trackstyles (H&S, Trial, RPG), were you could't count on getting what you were looking for (when searching for RPG for example). And when it came to choose the styles when uploading a track I always chose race (normal), even if it was a track I would consider fullspeed.
What is a fullspeed-track? A track you can drive at full speed, or a track that you can only drive at full speed? And what about a track with constant acceleration, but a top speed of 250 due to many bends? Isn't a fullspeed-track tech, too, because for getting the best times you need a good technique?
I hope you're getting my problem here.

So I would like an official defintion of trackstyles, with a clear distinction from others.

on stadium it's been used like this:
tech - track with many slides/drifts;
speedtech - fast tech with longer slides/drifts, often some fullspeed parts;
fullspeed - track without forced by braking drifts and without braking at all; can be slow.

Thx for your post Space, but I would like an official guideline to which everybody can refer to.

I know, that's my problem. It should be done!

We shouldn't start to create specific styles!
Let's the game evolve without previous (=bad?) influences ;)

Let's see if TM2 will bring some more variety and different styles.

well yes some more styles etc would be great indeed, but i dont think that the specific styles which are already known should be erased.

Why do we need any guidelines for this? Just ask yourself what kind of track you think it is. If you can't decide just choose "normal". Is it really such a hard decision that you need official definitions?? :s Even if you put "Tech" on a FS track, nothing's gonna happen more than you might get a sarcastic remark in one of the awards :p

Seems like I'm the only one having this problem.
I also think dejavu made a very good point. (But then it might be better to just go back to "race".)
I'm not a fan of categories at all, because a clear distinction seems hardly possible.
I think I can use Space's definition as a good guideline to get through the game. But one last question: What would race (normal) be then?

Well ... I always assumed that normal meant kind of Nadeo styled in that it was a bit to awkward of a comination of styles to be classified. I guess you could also consider it a 'None of the above' kind of thing :p
