Usernames on the right
Smart-ass-mode: on!

Imagine the following "drawing" as a stair:

_
_|
_|
_|
_|

Is it going up or down? As long as you're not japanese or do have a brain-damage you should answer with upstairs, because you're reading from left to right.
In the forum the names are on the right side, so you have to start reading right (because you want to know who is talking) and jump back to the left for reading the post. You can do it, but it seems to be more "work".
If you'd ever read a play (yes, this thing at the theatre before TV was invented) or a script for anything else with a dialog, you will find the speaker's name on the left. There's a reason for that...

Edit: Hmm, the stair-thing didn't work when I hit submit, but I'm sure you can imagine a stair from bottom-left to upper-right.

can't agree more, +100 on this. and in the First Look topic (on TMUX) people who were for the names on the right were just saying "you'll get used to it", while people who were against it were saying convincing arguments. (quite same for 14px font tho, you see much more less with it, 12px would be better. and even if ff thinks it'll fill the site better, think about people with tablets and laptops)
p.s. there was a nice quote on TMUX btw:
MExUNITED says:
This shouldn't really be a "I said its going to be this way so you all have to deal with it" thing. Not trying to take down your work here or anything as you've done excellent work from what I can see but that's just my personal feeling I'm getting from your posts in regards to the user info on the left. I think this is something that's not too hard to change in code that it would be better to please users rather than stick to it just out of principle.

p.p.s. found another quote, wtf then?!

It's moving back to the left now, and that's final.

Guys, you had time before.
On TMUX there was a forum to propose and discuss things that will appear on MX. Don't agree? You could tell there then. There were screens showing this system. There were infos.

Is that "eye-jumping" too hard for you? We have special muscles to do that, thanks to the evolution. How much time will you lose? No more than 1 second. We don't live in such a hurry to care about that one second. It won't change your life.

Just give it a try - 7 days for example. And then judge if it is good or bad.

already judged on maniaplanet - it's not comfortable. the only thing that helps is that there's a username also just above the message. why not to make it here too (on this grey bar)?

I think you already know that i support usernames on the left (y)

And to everyone who says get used to it. You simply don't. On my teams forum we have them to the right (and have had it so since 2008 or something). Still not used to it. At least we have the names on top of the posts (like on maniaplanet) too..
