ESL needs your maps!  


Some time ago we introduced the new Trackmania² Canyon section.
Now we need your maps! Please send us your maps you've created to let us use them in our cups&ladders.
It is a new game, so we need new maps for each style - that's why we don't ask for a specific mapstyle, just create maps and sort it in a possible mapstyle (e.g. Speedtech, Competition or Minimaps).
Make sure that you send just one Map in one E-Mail - so it is easier to sort them. After we recieved your maps, we will take a look and rate them.

What are the requirements for your Tracks?
Maps says:

- name: "ESL-'name'" use what you want for "name"
- no special signs in the name
- length: 30 - 65 seconds (depends on your mapstyle)
- use of ESL Signs
- the tracks are not uploaded anywhere
- Blockmixing is allowed, if it does not produce graphical glitches or driving bugs
- GPS is allowed, but only with a fake finish dead end
- Intros & Outros are forbidden
- the scenery is up to you (make sure it doesn't produce lags or lighting problems)
- the tracks were not used in any competition before
- the tracks are just known by yourself


Send the maps, together with a replay(!), to the following email address:
tm2.maps@staff.esl.eu

Please use the following style for your mail subject.
"Maps - STYLE- *your nickname*", else your mail may be missed. Remember just to send one map in one E-Mail!

The deadline for sending maps is 30 September.

I wasn't much of an ESL back on TMUF fan due to the nature of the tracks (they ultimately ended up being redundant switchback combo tech), but maybe I could be creative and make something a bit different.

This would also give me a bit of exposure for my other tracks (provided the track doesn't get edited afterwords) so I see a double incentive and no drawbacks.

I'm game. I'll build something and see if you like it.

EDIT: I'm guessing this would be a no, but would I be able to use my MarineMax sign?

Thanks for letting me know.

My track has been validated and I'm computing shadows at the moment. Frankly I don't know what category it fits in. It's definitely not a mini, but I can't tell if it's speedtech or competition (or just a regular race). I just built what I thought would work without sticking to one specific style.
