To calculate on 'Ultra' looks ugly. ^^
Anyway, i'm there to calculate your shadows, too. :p

In the launcher under compatibility there is a ticker for "Lightmap Quality Ultra". If you check that you'll have another option in-game when you go to calculate shadows. I think it's probably only necessary on maps where you have a lot of different lighting, like a massive RPG map.

Nice to see some people willing to calculate shadows for others! (y)

I'll be there to calculate your shadows too. Just PM me and If i have enough time, i'll do it easily.
..Well, that huge track I made with Nimrod took 2 hours, but a normal track won't take too much.

I need about 20 min to calculate Ultra-Quality on a map with about ~6000 cc.
I'd offer myself too, as a "shadow-computerer" ( :d ) for you. If interested, send me a PM.

Does anyone know how I can fix TM2 to stop calculating shadows when they don't need to be calculated? Whenever I play someone else's map it starts calculating shadows, when I go to make a new map or load a map I'm working on, it starts calculating shadows anyway.

I got this when i had set Lightmap quality to anything besides Very Fast, turned it back to very fast and it stopped with the shadow calculating when loading up a map in the editor.
Find it in Configure»Compatibility»Lightmap quality, hope this can help.

If you want to compute shadows PM me (note that I'm not able to compute Ultra shadows [unavailable on my PC])

I've learned recently that High Quality and Ultra shadows are only saved in your local cache. They're not saved in the GBX file with the track. This means, they aren't sent along with the track to other people.

So, it would seem to be pointless to calculate High Quality shadows for other people.

Still, for some, even normal shadows take way too long. So this thread will remain open for those who need normal/default shadows calculated.

You can offer your services here for that. Thanks to everyone who has already offered. (y)

Damn, It takes me 20min for a large map (almost 10000C) to calculate shadows at high quality. And as it seems it was all for nothing. Damn son, that is disappointing.

But I have a question. What is the quality that is send along with the track as you calculate high or ultra high quality shadows?
And there probably isn't a function to calculate shadows for downloaded tracks without the need of the editor? Damn, so no full sensation of the track.

still thanks for the heads up (y)

This is sooo stupid. Nadeo should have made that clear. :@

So if I have calculated my tracks with HQ shadows will people who download it or play it on servers, get the map without shadows at all (and wouldn't it be unvalidated then) or do they get normal shadows instead?
