Yo ManiaExchange, I'm back with an mtc map. This month's theme featured two 5 block wide areas which are separated by a 1 block wide gap. I first tried to build sometimes in stadium but figured I couldn't build anything I'd be happy with, so I tried the other envis. After also not having success there, I went to envi mixing and while driving around with the stadium car in canyon I noticed that the dirt behaves just like concrete on low speed and with this discovery, the start of this map was born.
After gaining some speed on road and dirt the rest of the route is made out of a combination of fullspeed and drift turns. I personally haven't seen stadium tech in canyon yet so I think the corners have a really nice and refreshing feeling to them.
As it is an mtc map, it has to be polished. The scenery part of this was quite interesting since you were only allowed to build scenery inside the areas, you could however use terraforming outside of the areas. So I settled down with the nice looking sequoia trees which also gives the map it's name. For the media tracker part, I worked every camera out with depth of field, so be sure the have the postprocess fx option enabled in the launcher or you won't be able to get the full effect out of the media tracker.
