BASCO 2012 - Stage 4 [Status: Results on page 10!]
Stage 3 is over - so it's time for Stage 4!

You want to participate? Here's your to-do-list:

Make sure you have read the main rules first. The following list is basically just copied from there.

1. Download the latest version of 'the track so far'. You can get it here.
2. Delete the finish piece (and if necessary, 1 piece of road that only existed to make laying the finish possible).
3. But do not delete or change any other part of the track layout. Please notice that you are not allowed to move the track!
4. You can modify landscape if necessary, but you must not change the driving experience of a previous stage.
5. Build your idea for the next stage of the track, adding about 10 seconds to the validation time.
Please put at least one respawnable CP into your part. Every CP you set up must be respawnable.
6. The coppers limit per stage is +1000 to the old value. If the map has a value of x coppers, the track can have x+1000 coppers after you have added your part. Do not use more than 1000 for your part. This includes scenery!
7. Do not add intro or outro MT to the track because there will be a MediaTracker competition when the building stages are over.
8. Validate and save your track with your name on the end: S4-YourMXLogin (S4 = "Stage 4"). Don't use a password for your track.
9. Upload the track to MX using the BASCO 2012 account. The password is basco2012.
10. Only one submission per stage per MX user!

Deadline:

Sunday 6th May: 22:00 CET

Please note that it's 22:00 CET and not 20:00 CET! This is to make up for the delayed results of stage 3 ;)

I somewhat agree with space :)
My part ended up in a corner, so it's pretty hard to continue on...

I would understand if people wanted to adjust the rules to be able to copy/paste the whole track to a more suitable location :$

I'm really sorry, hadn't thought about that before..

I have no idea, why it is not allowed to move the track. This feature has no virtual impact on the track itself, except the distance to the scenery outside the building area. In addition it is very easy to use, so that you cannot make mistakes and destroy the whole map or other parts with it.

The advantages of this feature are obvious. Remember the time in Tmuf, where you had to rebuild the whole track to make a new part possible? In tm2 this time is history. The feature to move the whole track is one of the major improvements of the tm2 editor, if not THE major improvement! It is part of the editor and helps us making trackbuilding easier and faster, just like the back and forth functions.

Especially at the current stage, the map is close to the edge of the building area, which really limits the possibilities to continue mapping with the freedom and creativity of the stages before. The previous stages showed very good results and everyone wants to keep the quality of the following stages.

So why don't you just let us build the stages in the standard editor with its fundamental functions, how every standard tm2-builder does!?

EDIT: Marti, it is not your fault. The Admins should just skip this rule... :@

+1 what haenry said.

I'm not going to rebuild my track just because some people are unable to build a track without having 75% of the building field at their disposal.

*sees that it's nearly impossible to build another part*
