"This is a song of change,
to let you know that flowers
are blooming in the next life. [...]
This song will never end,
not even when the sun shines not upon it." -Amazarashi
Been a while, innit?
I haven't been around TM for a good while, but I decided to give the editor one last go.
I've chosen Valley because, well, it just looks gorgeous, and it's quite easy to make a good-looking map that's decent enough to drive more than once. The track itself is a mix of aspects that remind me of the past times I've spent in this game:
- Snake55's transitional maps: Although much less complex, there are a few jumps that felt satisfying to build and drive
- SmurfsCup's tech maps: One of the most underrated cups due to the lack of playerbase, and the one on whose tracks I met the Smurfen community
- A bunch of other "experimental" tracks: No set track type, just let your imagination and your style go free.
There's also a bit of trivia hidden in the name, "Cherry Blossom River". Since this track is meant to be a bit more personally focused, I used the surname from my internet nickname, 桜川 みかん (Sakuragawa Mikan), and transliterated it.
One last thing is that with this track, I'm probably put an end to my time in TM. Between my lack of interest and the drama that got stirred up, I've grown almost completely inactive. And I know that Smurfen, the community that I've been a part of until now, is not only a TM-related group of people, but still, I see no point on staying if I won't be of aid. It's a sad note to end on but well, it is what it is.
So, with this, a huge Thank You to the Smurfen community for keeping my interest in this game alive all this time, specially to the following people:
Haagse: The always positive papa-Smurf, no wonder Smurfen became one of the (if not THE) biggest communities out there
Hype: Never told him this, but he's the one I've looked up to all this time, a 10/10 person (I know, you still owe me a punch)
Elias: For all those friendly fights during the cups, they won't end yet. Only once I've beaten you.
Scorp: The OG, it's a bit sad the guy's not active anymore, but all of this started because of 1 Skype call to play ShootMania... Talk about butterfly effect, eh?
"This map is dedicated to all of you, who have found a way of being yourselves, even if it had to be through the internet."
