PS3 controller help
I have it. I've been using it with the MotionInJoy driver. I'm trying to pin down what keeps causing TM to keep locking. This was an issue in tmf, now tm2. It's persisted through hardware upgrades, and new windows installations.

If you're using a PS3 controller, please speak up. If you're getting lock-ups or not, I want to know.

Thanks guys!

Been using the ps3 controller in TM2 with no issues so far which seem to be caused by the controller. (Besides forgetting to enable my custom setup on computer startup :p)

I'm using Windows XP by the way, perhaps it's a problem with Windows Vista/7? How does the game act when it locks up?

I have 7 Ultimate ... 32 bit.

When it locks up, It's not responsive at all. For example, if it were to lock after I click a button on a dialog box, the button would appear clicked, and then nothing will happen. TM won't respond to anything by a force close. The screen doesn't turn black or anything. On rare occasions, the audio will stutter, and I get a BSOD

Since you have a BSOD (they are awesome), tell us what the error code/message was.

I don't remember ... and my PC usually restarts pretty fast. Next time it happens, I'll be sure to pay attention

found a .dmp reader. xusb21.sys is there, so is the Windows Common Controller Driver. Granted, it may not be the same literal definition of 'controller' I think I've found the culprit. Does anybody recommend any other ps3 controller drivers before I ask El Goog?

a "controller" according to windows (from vista onward) is a xb360 one :/

You'd better update your current drivers if you didn't do that yet.
Fixes problems VERY often - Especially BSOD screens. (Outdated network card drivers I hate you)

these drivers are put together by a single Japanese guy (pretty sure), and I have checked for updates relatively recently. tonight I'll be looking for new drivers all together, uninstalling the MotionInJoy driver.

-edit-
Finally got the MotionInJoy driver off of my system (there was a BSOD involved, xusb, just like the dump files). Running a new driver (Method A). I'll post back if the problem persists. Thanks for the help guys!
