Theme: Map that uses Openplanet features

Edit: Another theme: An envimix track where the main feature is stuff that the original car is incapable of

Some suggestions:

  • Vanilla - Build a map that does not contain any blockmixing, items or custom blocks.
  • Out of bounds - Build a map where a section of the racing line goes outside the editor area.
  • Thirsty - Build a map with a focus on water; the player must interact with water or a water plane at least once (or twice or so) throughout the map.
  • Micro machines - Build a multilap map with a static camera that follows the car's position (but not its rotation).
  • Engine killer (from TMX United) - Build a map with no checkpoints and a freewheeling block within the first 5 seconds.

There Can Be Only One - You can only use one single instance of any block or item in your entire track.

Create your map from a map already created with only the checkpoints already placed. The same style as on Trackmania United with Puzzle mode.
(The checkpoints already placed on the map can be any checkpoint).

The goal is to see the imagination of mappers based on checkpoints already placed.

1: NewGrounds - build a Track of a style you usually dont build
2: Puzzled - make a Track utilising Blocks from a Template (Checkpoints or normal Elements)
3: Recycling - make a Track that reuses a certain block of your Track multiple times
4: Special Block - make a Track that is built to use a certain Block multiple times in a creative way

Checkpoint Package\Checkpoint Bomb:

The map should be centered around a 3x3 area that contains as many checkpoints as possible. The player gets anywhere between 0-27 (though 27 is pretty impossible) additional points (1 for every checkpoint in the "cube"), the checkpoints however cannot be stringed together (i.e. you can't put two checkpoints in a row if the car is supposed to drive through them one after the other). Additonal checkpoints can be put elsewhere to prevent cutting. "Theme" scoring should judge how creatively the checkpoints are placed within the area. (if a cp is 2 blocks high, it's fine to put it on the highest layer, effectively making it a 3x3x4 but the base of it is still in 3x3x3)

This is just a rough concept, and probably a terrible idea, at least in its current state, but with some polishing it might be cool.

I like this idea (and actually made something similar a couple of years ago). If we were to try this, I'd suggest:

1) Don't allow item-CPs, only block CPs (or else someone will just jam 8000 item CPs in there).
2) Do allow block-mixing (with points off for ugly z-fighting or whatever).
3) Maybe go a bit larger? 3x3 is really tough, especially on vertical even if you only force bases. Maybe 4x4...? Edit: Or maybe not...might as well make it a challenge? :)

One suggestion: remixing. Host and mappers make "pieces" of known maps (1 per environment, rather similar style maybe) and players have to use let's say at least 3 or 4 of those parts (like corners) in their map. The way they are used is up to builders in competition, for example reverse driving or jumping to the part is okay, but removing blocks isn't. At least 50 % of the part has to be driven through.

Make a map in a style you have never made (either a specific style, or a specific combination car/envi)

A simple one:

Start has to be directly below or above finish.

Edit: Might also work as a theme for a 90MC. Or it has to be made a bit more challenging/complicated with other rules.
