No one ever said forum games are not allowed, read the sticky again. Only the threads that have no other purpose than just spam that involves no discussion or anything, are not allowed. It's off-topic, not spam-your-rank-up-topic.

Well it certainly seems to to a lot of people here... and no offense to people who frequently participated in it, but stuff like the tug-o-war thread wasn't really fun in the first place

I don't mind what titles people have, it's about what they do to get those titles. And to avoid people spamming on useless topics that no one will ever read - just to get their post count up - we have to create some rules here. We just want to keep the forum clean.

I don't know about others but I have never posted a single post to up my rank.. When I post in for example the counting game I do because I kind of enjoy it

I second this. Also, this whole issue is why, back on my old forum, Necrontyr Online, I was extremely hesitant to add post ranks. I just didn't want to have to deal with the whole issue of "what is post-milling, anyway?" (Post Milling was the term I used for posting entirely just to increase one's post count, and thus their post rank).

I really don't like arguing with moderators, but this is something I absolutely have to bring up.

If someone with a high forum rank replies to your post, you can usually tell pretty quickly if they got their rank with well-structured thoughts or off topic ramblings.
