Haha nice one MrA, but I'm serious. Too many times we've had this discussion and people mainly hang up on that word 'best'.
So Forzy, it would just be consequent, you want changes, don't you. ;)

Nobody gets hurt when it's FOTW.
Why are they called All Time Favorites but Best of the Week and not Favorites of the Week? Or Best of All Times? 8-|
It's only words.. ^^

Along with that you could change "Best of the week" into "Favorites of the week".
It would eventually lessen the endless Best of the week discussions and that it's so unfair and a track with 100 awards is not 50 times better than a track with 2 awards.
Simply by changing one little word. :)

Would it?

Anyway, even if I don't think it is taken literally by the majority (anymore), I'd definitely change it as "best of the week" describes this bunch of maps anything but accurately. Favourites of the week.. well yeah, but still not perfectly fitting and a bit unimaginative I think. :p I'd have nothing against Art's or MrA's suggestions ^^

Would it really make a difference if we changed the wording? Some people would still be wondering why their tracks don't appear on that list, even though they think they're great, and then we'll end up having this discussion again :|

Nice that the first one got it. At least are the tracks in the Fotw still the Botw.
And I don't get it why people discuss about something like that. It's a WORD, no more and as jet said you will find there still the same tracks by the same authors, no matter if fotw or botw.

Of course you will, that's not the point. ;)
And of course we'll always have dogs in the manger complaining about other peoples success.
And yes, it's just a word, so no reason to cling to a word as if it would rip the site apart if it was gone. ;)

I've pleaded for 1 track per author bow a long time ago (2006 i think) but it never happened. In 2006 i saw colleague famous authors (oh that sounds stupid but i dont know how else to say it) spam more tracks per week and I always thought (and sometimes told them personally) it was unfair to unknown builders who deserve a place in bow but end up at place '11' and never get on the frontpage.

This is a very good point. TMX/MX are taking focus on the popular authors already with the award system. Unknown authors have it hard to get recognized. By having one author taking several slots in the botw it gets even worse.

Just a little bump as a reminder.
I'd still like to see this implemented. ;)
