Where can I read my notifications?

I have red box in the top line with the number of unread notifications, but I don't find the link to read these notifications an reduce this number to 0. Under "Accout" there's My Messages, My Reports and so on, but where can I view the notifications?

Is it possible to delete the read notifications? I clicked on all 76 notification links in the list, but the number in the red box doesn't go down. Is this the way it should behave? Or is there a possibility to clear the counter, so it shows only the number of new, unread notifications?
