Are you able to improve your time in Official Mode? TrackMania 2 Canyon

Yes I'm a noob. I was wondering if you are able to get a better time in Official Mode. Or are you stuck with what ever time you get in that event. I just like to get a better time then what I got. TrackMania 2 Canyon
