6h Mix Stadium by DDE : Tech map needed  



Let me describe very briefly our event : it will be a 6 hours endurance race, played on 3 servers : 1 dirt server, 1 tech, 1 speed. We are requesting here the tech map only.

By sending us your map, you must agree with a cooperation between us if modifications needed.
Be sure that if your map is selected, of course there won't be many changes to do, then we won't ruin your map with our ideas. But if we think it's really needed, the map will be changed. And it can be still discussed.


Map charasteristics :

  • the map can't be released publicly since we only release the map 15 minutes before the start of the race. It has to remain secret.

  • multilaps map around 2:45mins (2:30 to 3:00) on a running lap
  • it must be very flowing in general !
  • the map must be minimum 90% tech/speed-tech. In the 10% remaining, you can put a bit of variety in styles (dirt/FS/high-speed/nascar mainly ... you can test a small RPG section but be really careful, it must not be hard, but an easy and still flowing one that doesn't require any high RPG skills. Don't ruin your map if you're not sure about this point)
  • never forget that even a low skilled player can drive the map without too much difficulty. We always want our events accessible for everyone. That doesn't mean it just has to be a simple map, but a low should always have a way to pass every parts of the map with not much difficulty.
  • wherever in the map, one straight line of 5-8 seconds at low speed (in its beginning) where you can relax a bit (to rest fingers and nerves)

  • TM2 Stadium tittle-pack
  • map size : 7000 planets must be a maximum
  • custom objects are allowed
  • the scenery must remain the lighter you can
  • tag map : 6h DDE Tech - Map name
  • mood : day
  • avoid poles, holes or whatever takes additional attention for nothing in your driving, it's an endurance race
  • you can use classical hexamaping if you want or if it helps but pay attention to bugs and glitches. You can be as much ambitious as you want in blocs using as long as it remains flowing
  • about direction signs and decoration : put them where is needed, the way must be clear enough. You can use your own graphic signs if you want ... if they are not too awful :p
  • signs about sponsors and so on will be placed once the map is finished, we'll tell you more once the map will be finished

  • CheckPoints distribution is a bit special but really important.
    Consider the fastest drivers must drive 30 CPs during 3 minutes on your map (=1 CP every 6 seconds). 29 to 31 CPs is ok too, even 28 to 32 but it should be a maximum ! Try to place the CPs this way but it still can be changed after the map is finished.
    Why that rule ? The 3 maps (read the 1st sentence of this post) will be played at the same time, each on a server. So the maps must have almost the same rythm in terms of CPs to have a coherent general rankings.
    If you wanna deeper explanations, come in private where i can develop.
    But this point is really important.
