I haven't heard about that style before. Can you describe more exactly what it is? Isn't it essentially just fullspeed with powerslides in addition to speedslides? It seems very familiar to traditional fullspeed for me.
Well I would say that is closest to FullSpeed style but it's also very different.
First of all it is not full speed, you actually need to control your speed, release the acceleration in certain turns to get the optimal speed and angle. In some turns you need to slide or powerslide to achieve that same result.
It has more turns and more tighter turns than FS.
There are also more precision jumps and air control compared to FS maps.
It can also have transitions like grass to road or dirt to road and vice versa in which you also have to know technique to get good speed and angle.
Only in some maps you can do speedslides but usually a small/controlled ones which are usually much harder to perform than the long ones like in FS maps. In most of the maps with long turns you actually want to avoid any slides because there is usually no space nor speed which would allow you to speedslide.
It can also have nascar turns (tilted roads) and aggressive turns.
All in all very different than FS, not necessarily harder than FS (good FS players are usually very good in SF) but certainly more technical and it has more action to it.

Anyway, if a new trackstyle was added, you won't find most previous maps on there since the style wasn't there when they were uploaded.
Yeah, of course, I am aware of that. However it would be great to see new maps placed in that category and being able to filter those SpeedFun maps conveniently and efficiently.

At the moment the best workaround is to visit speedfun servers and add authors you know build speedfun maps as Favourite Authors, and check their new uploads out
That is exactly how I've been doing it since forever but there is a big drawback:
I know the most active SpeedFun map builders, teams and servers
now so it's easier for me find SF maps but when I just started playing it was hard for me to find SpeedFun maps for this sole reason.
Also what if I wanted to explore some new maps that are listed somewhere in the Race or some different category and I'll never be able to find those because it's too tedious to go and check every map separately to check if it's SpeedFun map or not.
I think that SpeedFun deserves its own category because there are certainly quite a few SpeedFun teams, maps, players and servers to prove that, there was also
SpeedFun ESL cup so I think that proves that SpeedFun is unique TM style...and also it's not like its new style, it existed forever but it wasn't ever quite acknowledged and accepted. I think that it should be.
