Is this topic dead? :(

Well that was really happy one, should be good in a disco. I'm not a fan of such helium vocals that are mostly only "aa aa oo oo yy yy ee ee" but the feeling is most important. I'd give it 7/10 (1-10 scale), the music itself is nothing special but the feeling is great ^^

Here is mine... okay, this song works best for Finnish people as the others don't get the vocals. So I guess it will get low points (: But anyway, I freaking love it. Viikate is a Finnish band whose style is between metal, instrumental metal, evergreens, rock and some other genres. Their vocals are very poetic and can't be translated too well but hopefully the feeling can be translated via music itself.

This song, Työmies (Engl. Workerman) tells a story of a poor workerman. Nobody helps him, even though he tries to get work. But no, nobody helps even though this man "who knows the dark sky" tries his best. People tell him to go to hell, and if I understood those poetic lyrics well, he kills himself (half of the song is gone here). He starts his way to the underworld (piano starts) and when he was there, the boss of the underworld (alias devil) gives him a job: as a ferryman of the inferno. After the part without vocals (I love it <3) the song tells about crying people and probably tells about workerman's funeral. Yeah it's hard to give the feeling for you but I tried my best. Try enjoy : D

6/10 - don't understand a single word, but the melody isn't bad and conveys the mood very well! (y)

Let's stay with finnish band, because they make the best music. (l)

Don't like that album that much anymore. Naomi is the only song I really like on it.

Well for this there are lots of variations and progressive-like structure, good work on it. The piano seems a bit distorted and the voice is weird -although it will normalize while advancing- , but there are things for giving more originality to the song. This track seems more complicated and unpredictable than "standard" songs, which shows a compositional talent

so... 8,4|10

Quite a nice one. The overall feeling is mystic and a bit like Rammstein on hardcore which works really well. The echo of vocals is a great little detail. Even though I've studied German a bit I don't know those words so the lyrics are a bit unclear to me but that has never been a problem for me so I don't find anything wrong here. I think it's maybe a bit too long as most of the song is very similar to other parts and diversity is quite minimum but still I can say that I enjoyed it. The lack of melody is a bit bad tho, I doesn't start playing in my head and isn't addictive. I think it's a good song while driving TM, so it's 7,5/10.

I'll continue with Viikate. This song is melodic and you don't need to understand the vocals to enjoy it. Remember to listen it till the end, the part after a little quite break is needed to get all of the song ^^

Viikate - Kuu kaakon yllä

And if someone wants to know the name, it's "The Moon over the southeast".

Elliot Smith is awesome dude. But seriously, 7/10 is about right. That's no where near one of his best songs. sorry jonas.

Edit : song you linked is about a 7 or an 8.
