Prologue
Well, Trackmania is a game for fun. But, from time to time, the real life is catching us and shows what's going on outside TM. I don't want judging or value! I just want to show and inform. Maybe you have someone in your family or you know a person was close to this disaster. My thoughts are with them and i hope that we all learn what this part of science are showing us.

Chernobyl and the years after
Today, existing photographs, films and reports diverge controversial and are discussed in different directions. There are not enough evidences to tell the full truth. The science itself is researching for a long time in order to prove the actual long-term implications.

That the nature will survive is uncontroversial. The question is how the mankind will deal with this?

Facts
In April 1986, a complete power failure at the reactor 4 should be simulated. It should demonstrate that adequate power can still be guaranteed after a shutdown of the reactor.

This test should have been done actually carried out before the official opening of the reactor 4 (Block 4) in the year 1983.

Insufficient knowledge and errors of the operators in the power plant during the test lead to one of the biggest reactor disaster in history.

April 25, 1986 - 01:06
The reactor 4 has to be shut down for a revision and a test.

April 25, 1986 - 14:00
It started to switch off the emergency cooling system.

April 26, 1986 - 01:19
The water supply to the reactor was increased to disable the warning signs.

26 April 1986 - 01: 23:40
The chief of the operators started manually the emergency shutdown of the reactor. Thereby the control rods were dropped into the reactor.

26 April 1986 - 01: 23:44
That started a chain reaction and the power has been exceeded a hundred times the nominal value within a split second. The result was that a huge explosion lift off the over 1,000-tons roof. The reactor core was released and had direct contact with the atmosphere.

At this time, Prypjat was sleeping ...

April 26, 1986 - 04:30
The chief of the operators reported to the plant management that the reactor was intact!

Although in daylight, the effects were evident, the operators and the plant management persisted until the evening of April 26 that the reactor was intact and just had to be cooled only!

These false reports were the main reason for the late evacuation of the nearby city of Pripyat.
