Hermite thing...hope somebody is smart enough about this topic.
Yo all,

as I'm making the translation of the game to my language, I met again HERMITE in the Mediatracker. Its in the cam views, cam settings, maybe you remember of that.
I wonder what the hell is this, please somebody explain. I looked up this word in the english and french sources, but both means the same.
Hermit? I think Yoda master is a hermit, lolz.

The other thing Ive found was this wiki article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermite_interpolation
Has it smth to do with the camera view? =p
Maybe it should stay hermite and thats all?

Please help.

Hermite is one of the options that determines how the camera moves between clips. Hermite moves more smoothly between clips with sometimes a little bounce or noticable speed-up, compared to Linear which makes every camera movement instant. (brb)

Hope I explained that well enough, :$

Thx for answers. Its OK for me, that thats a camera setting, but I have a problem with the word itself.

Does hermit mean a man far from civilization of it means this interpolation too? So maybe I shouldnt translate it? This is the point of my problem :)

The english version of the game contains Hermit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermit =p

this page says more: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermite

So this is a word not to be translated?

wiki says:
Interpolation de Hermite, technique d'interpolation d'un ensemble de données ou d'une fonction par un polynôme.

NinjAstar says:
Linear which makes every camera movement instant.$

Sorry to contradict you Ninja, but linear doesn't change instantly ! A linear camera follow straight line(ar) like : /\/\/

You can make the camera "teleport" by using "none". Also using two different interpolations between two keys will have the same effect as none (if i remember well).
If you have camera 0s -> 10s. Hermit @0s and linear @10s, il will be like you had chosen none @0s. Same thing if the anchor or the targeted cars are différent from a key to another.

Hermite interpolation comes from Charles Hermite

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Hermite

There's a nice explanation here...

http://www.cubic.org/docs/hermite.htm

The linear interpolation would make a camera go from P1 to P2 in a straight line...the hermite uses the tangents at the P1/P2 points to "travel" through...

XTremely happy!
