I've created a simple clip which allows the camera to be 'seated' in the passenger's seat in the cockpit of the default Canyon car. Pros:
-Provides a more 'realistic' approach to driving similar to racing simulation games
-Gives an interesting viewpoint for replays

Cons:
-Has major issues with non-raytraced reflections when shooting a video in-game (very hard to see out of the windows due to intense reflections)
-Has some issues with raytraced reflections when shooting a video in-game (reflections on windows can be unrealistic)
-Has issues with "high" reflection quality similar to non-raytraced reflections, except the reflection intensity is noticeably less
-Camera does not compensate for cockpit deformation, resulting in noticeable clipping
-Reflection intensity is amplified by multiple cars intersecting each other (the video linked to above clearly illustrates this issue)

the speedo and instruments are on the other side and we americans drive from the other side so perhaps you could switch seats. not a big issue though. another thing to think about it people using custom models, because it could possibly block the view of the racer depending on the model and make the track unraceable. just somethings to chew on. cool idea though!

Actually, I agree with him. This is why I've created a new version which places the camera on the correct site for the default Canyon car. The post has been updated with the link to the clip, but the original link is kept for those who prefer or want it.

There are countries where the instruments and all this stuff are on the right side (in Singapore, for example)

can i customize a cam and use it online or in official mode ?
or is it just a custom camera you made and want to share your clip. ?
nothing special if you cant use it as default.

As far as I'm aware, you can't save custom camera positions made while in-race and share them; you can only share custom cameras made while in the Mediatracker as a Mediatracker clip. What I've implemented here is meant for replays or, for the more daring, a Mediatracker-based in-race camera, like I did for The Long Zi Home.

Also, why is it "not special" if you can't use this camera in online or official mode in your opinion?
