An optional update has been released.
To get it, you must go to the player page (http://player.maniaplanet.com/), in the brand new "Updates" section.
After activating the option, restart Maniaplanet, and the update process should start (~17MiB).

Changes :
* Performance increase concerning sounds
* Performance increase concerning car reflects
* Now tries to recover after graphic card driver crash
* Compatibility with non-SSE2 computers
* Added support for scalable suspensions in car models (more details here : viewtopic.php?t=4372)

* Fixed Maniacodes offering scripts or painters textures (brushes, stickers)
* Fixed online sharing of 3d car models
* Fixed rare crashes during script compilation & runtime

* Launcher : remove unsupported low-quality modes from the list
* Launcher : now starts on foreground after an update

Yeah, perfect! I was waiting for this.

Made my game look so much better, its ridiculous.

Then again, it might add a touch of lag because of all the better processes, but that's no problem for me, because I have my video card do all the anti aliasing and stuff.

Why doesn't that update start automatically?
I would expect that from a game that's going online anyways...

It does start automatically, you just have to turn on automatic updates via the user site.
