This is the old Interlagos track dating from when it was originally created. The hosted a non-championship race in 1972 won by Carlos Reutemann, before a year later where the track got held a championship round for the first time. It was won by Emerson Fittipaldi and the success of the Brazilian Grand Prix and it became a fixture in the calendar for much of the 70's. Unfortunately the 1980 round was so much critisized, due to safety concerns and was nearly boycotted by the drivers. The track surface was notoriously bumpy which caused the GP to move to Jacarepagua circuit located in Rio de Janeiro, while the older Interlagos was used for national races until 1990. That year the track was resurfaced and redesigned to a 4.3 km circuit and once again hosted the Brazilian Grand Prix till this day. In my case I like the older one, not only how long it is, but how challenging is.
