you can mark your track as Unreleased when uploading.

As unreleased the map is downloadable, so you can share links to it. It can also be played on servers which allow uploading from MX by trackid, or it can be put on PlayPal Online (I think)....

We could even make a forum thread (single thread not a whole forum) for beta maps discussion.
