imo you should count the posts like we do on the xr-forum.
The whole off-topic section simply doesn't count into the number of posts
That way you can "ensure" these "titles" are given to people who actually make MX tick by being active in contests for example and/or by helping other players

I don' t agree. There will always be some people that will only want to increase the number under their nickname. We should prevent spamming.

Spamming is only done in the Off Topic section. If those posts don't count towards towards your title, you won't have these eh, title-boosters. Spamming in other forums is dealt with properly already, so that won't be much of a problem.
