Yesterday (17th of January 2019), the very first Valley edition of the prestigious True Talent Cup has been played. I have had the honor (or rather: I sacrificed myself) to provide the five maps for the mappack, which I have worked on for quite a while until I have achieved a satisfactory result.
My goal was to show off everything Valley has to offer in these five maps while having a gradually increasing difficulty level as you progress through the maps. This means I have incorporated every available surface of this environment (road, dirt, grass, field, sand, cobblestone, water, rails) to provide a versatile and never-boring experience.
I have made big use of the mesh modeler to adjust everything to my liking and to create things you're normally not able to do. Loving that tool!
Map 3 gets a bit more technical. Here I introduce players to the bridge/cobblestone surface, as well as a long autodrift on a platform in the mid section. Coming towards the end there is a grass section which transitions to a short field part, later into some dirt up into the finish. Car control is especially important here.
