[mtc] Lagoon's Father

Hello people of MX!

Our trio is back once again! This time we took up to challenge of February 2020’s MTC: Be Their Valentine. This month’s topic wasn’t too restrictive so basically we could build anything we wanted to.

Our project started with the choose of a car and enviroment. We’ve noticed that there was a marginal amount of tracks with the BayCar, so that’s what we went with, pairing it up with Lagoon envi. Previously our tracks had been divided by 3 parts of 15-30 seconds, where everyone made a single segment, which is kinda what most collab mappers do. This time however, we decided to change our building system. We’ve tripled the amount of segments, and set the goal segment length to 5-6 seconds per mapper. Additionally, we were livestreaming our building process via Discord, so while one of us was building, the other two could contribute by suggesting blocks or pointing out mistakes; so even when you see who’s part is who’s (highlighted conveniently in the GPS ) remember it‘s also partially group effort. This entire method gave us much more control over the building process and, most importantly, really diversified the map, while at the same time it helped to tie it together.

As you can see on the thumbnail, LagoonCar is right beside the BayCar. Why is that you may wonder? Well, it's all about this track’s name. ”Lagoon's Father” was a code name for our entire project since the beginning. It was based on a one famous comment:

• LagoonCar is a hyperactive child of Bay and Island

We had an idea actually to give some kind of history for it. We don’t want to spoil too much, so just download the map and see for yourself. And remember, DON’T SKIP THE INTRO!
