On The Run
Once again I am a prey of the duality; there are those who live in rubble and dirt and then those who live in the tall skyscrapers on the other side. I have to make my deliveries in order to survive, and so starts another evening on the border. What's in the crates doesn't matter, where they arrive does.
This map is the first track of the
Atlas RPG Cup and a rounds competition will be played on March 24th in the context of the first playday of that competition. Make sure to check out the insane works of the RPG mapping community in the coming weeks!
The ideas for this project were ambitious: First off, building 2 separate settings, poor and rich, with the same set of textures came across as the first challenge. Second of all, building what looks like an open-world track without actually being one and actually replicating/imitating the layout of a city was another great planning obstacle.
I feel like both these factors came together in this work, despite being much different from the usual works of RPG.
This track is made with a hunting perspective in mind, therefore there are no truly hard obstacles and the track should be generally simple to complete for players of all levels. Keep in mind: the story is there in the yellow question marks if you are lost!
Screenshot by
skyslide, and I'm certainly very grateful to him to have fixed the Titlepack from certain doom
Another thanks to
Chocolleightfor organizing the event.
And another big big thanks to
PLTX for the great custom signs he has made for this track.
As a final word, and as usual, I hope you will enjoy the incredible amount of work I put into this! GLHF!
Side note: Since there were some issues from the transition to MP4, the dirt textures are messed up, which is out of my control. Apologies for that.
APRIL 24th 2018 UPDATE: fixed a cut and a few misplaced blocks, my apologies to those who sent replays beforehand but I want to insure the highest possible quality for my maps, thank you for your understanding
