could we split offtopic into 2 different sections -
1) Forums games, like most of the spam is at the moment.
2) Other offtopic - this is for non forum games, be it 'pics of yourself', 'serious discussion about something(e.g world markets, sci/religion, conflicts, etc. etc.)' or the 'totally brilliant inventive stuff that isn't funny thread.'

just an idea i've seen on other forums that seems to work quite well, especially with (probably) more people using the site now that the older ones.

I'd just separate the spam (all the pointless forum games) from topics "with actual content". Threads like "guess the city" could go in either group, then, I find. They aren't just pointless posting.

it's an idea but somehow i won't see topics like "one million" or "tug of war" again'cause it's the biggest spamming shit i've ever seen. No matter if it's under general off topic or in a single topic for spamming..
