oh wonder oh wonder osaka gave me significant much lower points then the other judges :)

love his comments: we expect race maps, not trial or lol.. So why dont you say this? Why dont you write down that trial or lol has no chance in winning this contest? why dont you write down what you expect?

And to top it all off, it's really short. I know there was a directive on length, Why do you complaint about length when you write down that i have to build a specific length? You even said that the length was given so why do you complain about your own rules?

agree with the rest of the comments from lolig and eye. I focused alot on mt and scenery so iam fine with a bad route :)

Osaka: next time dont shame mtc into the ground with such a stupid amount of time for judging. Choose other Judges when they dont have time. Thats your task as a mtc-moderator. And this time you failed hard. I completly forgot about this mtc, and checked today, seeing that it needed 6 months to judge 7 tracks ;)

And try not to prejudge maps from annoying user ;)

EDIT: iam sad that noone gave me more points in theme :( looks like noone got the concept of giving the player the illusion of a wide and opened map, but you drive only in 10x10 :(

Ok Zenit, time to listen like I was Navi:

First things first, it's bad sport insulting a moderator. But I'm not here to discuss this. I say it as general warning tho.

Second of all, I don't look at author when judging a track. Your track was genuinely ass to me. If you try to imply otherwise, you certainly don't know me. I actually talked a lot of shit to gado with his track, and if you look at the results, he's actually second, because his track was well built. I've had earlier MTCs when someone whose mapping I love made a particularly bad track and his score went to shit. It happens. Deal with it.

Side note: eyebo and lolig liked it better than me, that's ok, it also happens. That's why we have several judges. I've never been a fan of trial maps and I had to loop around the same 5 seconds of yours 75 times because you couldn't bother to put a fucking checkpoint on landing. That's bad design in my book. So obviously I found your track not fun, because I kept fucking up in the same place after having done things properly, I found it unpolished, because you could've noticed that sequence and put a checkpoint, and a bad route design for the reasons stated.

If I were to give you a bad score because it's you, I don't fuck around with that bullshit. I give straight zeroes to people. Or find some foolishness to straight DQ you.

Third, yours is the second trial entry to MTC like ever, first being gado's. At least that I can remember. Probably because a good trial track takes more than 15 days to build. Probably because most trial tracks won't fit in the time directive which was actually enforced back in the day. Probably because it's easier to judge a good race map, and contestants want this gold. I agree that it's not on the rules, but you're potentially looking at a lower score because you're putting a higher difficulty on yourself. I also entered a contest with a "lol" map once (more like a trollmap), the endurance one back in TMUF. It got 2 points. So I have it much worse than you and I don't go around pointing fingers.

Plus, trial maps are polarizing. You either like them or you don't. There's no middle ground. At least in my experience.

Second side note, notice the author time in gado's map. His track is outside that time constraint, but at least it feels finished. Yours, to me, didn't.

Fourth, why would I hold a grudge against you for like 7 months just to give you a bad score? I have a life, even if not too active. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Fifth, I could apologize for the lack of judges, but it's not only my problem. We were already short on judges before willow disappeared and our other judge bailed out. My judging had been done since June except for gado's track and yours, which I decided to leave for when we had judges to do it. Summer came and went, I actually went pretty inactive on TM and forgot about this. When time came to do the advent calendar, the results were suggested as one of the days and I got two judge requests from that. And that's when I finished judging. It was late November at this point actually.

As I said, I have a life, and other hobbies. Those got in the way. For that I apologize. Not to you in particular, but to everyone including you.

Last but not least: Why are you attacking me? Because I had other things to do? Because you didn't win? Without my scores you'd be 6th, and only half a point over 7th. Not precisely top 3. Because you think I judged that way because of you? I already said I didn't in this post.

If it's because of something that doesn't directly have to do with me or who I am, I suggest you take that shit elsewhere. And if it's because of this contest, then I'm sad to say that you're stupid, because you already forgot about it so it's really not that important for you.

Anything else to say to me personally, take it to PM because that's why they're there. Kindest regards,

FT»Osaka

its bad sport to insult a moderator? So you are better then a normal user right? Iam allowed to insult a normal user? But not you? God?

And then a wall of text just about a defense of my insult? :p I see you have better things to do... Oh ... not ;) thats why you are writing this shit.

You text had zero substance. You said this and that, but in the end i just question myself "why did it take 6 Months to judge 7 tracks?" Because you lost 2 Judges? Well dont you have the connection to other tm member to ask them for a favor? No because you have better things to do right :) Maybe mtc hosts should be unknown people with no friends :( But you have better things to do right? Some real life and so one?

You shamed mtc into the ground with this attitude. IF YOU HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO DONT HOST A MTC.

No Zenit, you can't insult a normal user either. But a moderator can actually ban you, so yes, it's bad sport. As I mentioned, it was just a general warning.

Matter of fact I am better than you as far as this forum is concerned. But that's not something I would want to take advantage of. Maybe that's why I was given powers. Maybe MrA was tripping that afternoon. That's not here nor there.

And since this looks that easy for you, go ahead, host an MTC. Run into the same problems that other people have ran into. You see, there's an MTC which still hasn't results and nobody who entered that contest is even active anymore. It has been done much worse with more people involved. So I don't think I've done THAT bad. It's also why I passed the torch to haenry, but I assume you hadn't noticed because this was so unimportant to you.

And now, to sum up my point before:

I DID NOT LIKE YOUR MAP. I'm not the only one. I just happened to be a judge. It's not you. If it was you, you would be disqualified. And at this point, if I did give a single fuck about whatever the shit you want to throw at me, you'd probably be banned. Surprisingly enough, I care about you much less than you care about me. This is all the substance you need to catch from my post, but I assume you read a couple of lines and got bored.

In that case, don't attack people, don't tell them what to do, and most certainly don't expect explanations when they don't do that.

To further continue with my point, although this is much secondary: Other people have taken major Ls on judging, whether it's been me judging or someone else judging. Once I had to give max score to a dude I hated, his map was that good. Pretty sure irondragons won contests at the point in time he was a major troll (read: ass). I was voted a pretty alright dude the same year I took a 2 on an MTC (although to be completely honest that won silver for trollmap of the year iirc). We the judges are looking at a map, and I happen to be very strict with how maps are built and very specific about how I like maps. Go ahead, take a look at my TMX accounts and see how many awards I've given.

And by the way, don't ever go around telling people you don't know how their life is. There's never much to do on a Sunday evening, much less on christmas break, and I like typing, so I typed that shit. The 6 months the contest was on hold, however, I was dealing with life as a whole.

Last point, this is my final warning. Anything you have to say to me, there's no reason to have everyone else know it. Since, you know, nobody else has came here to complain about shit they can't control. Remember what I have said earlier in this post.

Zenit says:
BLABLABLABLA...
EDIT: iam sad that noone gave me more points in theme :( looks like noone got the concept of giving the player the illusion of a wide and opened map, but you drive only in 10x10 :(

on this part: the theme was to use the tight space to build a map not an artwork with a crappy route, as you stated above you didn't care about a bad route.
well the MTC wasn't focussed on scenery or MT, it was focussed on what you were capable to do with the route within this tight square.
so if you desired more points you should work more on the route, and making clear how and where to drive. (= more fun since you do not fail every run. => more points).

about Osaka's judging: Do not blame him. everyone has his own voting system. I know Osaka is used to give lower points but most of the times these points are more accurate. also a 10 is practicly impossible since everything can be done better imo.

anyways gonna read the other posts :)
edit1:
Zenith: I agree with what Osaka says (most of it), anywyas about the judging: it could've done faster. like I was amoung the original judges.
I had safely send my sheet to Willow back than (sicne he was the guy going over this mtc not Osaka! so like always we awaited for the results. than I heard that willow had to do things in real life: UNIVERSITY. wich I know takes a lot of his time. so the sheets and willow were lost in a pit of oblivion, nobody really knowing what happened to the finished sheets if there were any. I knew mine was done, but since I did not enter the mtc I didn't check the thread to say hey I've finished it. untill they kindly asked in IRC to help on this mtc. after judging a few maps I remembered that I already wrote these comments, etc...

so please do not blame others without knowing what is going on.

EDIT2: btw if you know Osaka a bit you should know that you should take his words with a spoon of salt (or whatever it is said in english XD)
sicne I had some words with Osaka about an other game XD well I took his words litterally, and yup things happen than :p

Because that concept wasn't what was looked for. Also, if that's your idea of open, I wonder how can you get inside your house.

well what was the theme again?

"Entrants should create a track in a 10x10 area using either one of the new MP3 editor features, aka mixmapping/airmapping or envimixing."

Oh really that is what i did. But now you tell me that it was looked for other things? Holy shit man i cant read your mind you need to write it down what you expect from us

so you said you wanted no trial in this rpg and no open 10². I cant read it in the topic srsly. Get your shit together and write down what you expect from us. We cant read your mind
