This is the first part of TM Interview Project hosted by me, wormi. The first guy I have interviewed is a German dirt driver, Shadow, who is also known as der-bozz. You can find more infomation here in the forum. But now, here is the interview!

1. Could you tell us something about yourself?
My name is Christophe and I was born in 1993 in Germany. I live in Baden-Württemberg, between Baden-Baden & Karlsruhe, situated in front of the wonderful Black Forest. My dad is from France, my mom from Germany, that`s the reason why I write in French sometimes. When I`m not at home doing my homework or sleeping, I try to meet my friends. We play basketball, soccer or we just listen to music or watch a movie. But when I`m alone at home, I prefer to listen to some music while playing Trackmania. I like to listen to some (german) Hip-Hop, Dubstep, D`& `B, Rock (Billy Talent, Five Finger Death Punch, Nirvana, Black Sabbath), Jazz, & Electro . My parents aren`t happy when I listen to music because my room begins to vibrate because of the bass. But what I`m talking about? That should be enough for now, if you want to know more, feel free to pm me.
2. How did you find TrackMania? When it happened?
It was a usual day, I watched Tv in the evening. I discovered the channel “Giga” and was like: “Wtf? Cars driving loops and making big jumps?! I must have this game!”. The problem was, I had no computer, and my parents were not happy when I told them that I want to play this game. But I solved the problem, I went to my friend and we started to play & build some shitty maps in Trackmania ESWC. If I remember right, it was in 2oo6, directly after the publication. From this day on, I always played with my friends when I met them.
3. How often and where do you play?
I usually play every day, but often only 30 minutes or one hour. Sometimes I play for hours, If I feel good and got nothing to do. The game is open all time when I`m on my Pc, but I`m for sure not playing all the time. I don`t have favorite servers anymore, dirt is dying slowly and so the servers do. I started to play Fullspeed & Minitech, that`s also quite fun when you play the right maps.
4. You're known as a dirt driver. Why is dirt your favorite style?
When I started playing Trackmania, I discovered the editor pretty fast, I tested all types of blocks. But when I joined my first team, SbG (Südbaden-Gaming), FL7sh (black_gsx) told me to drive some maps with him on the =RR= servers. I was quite good and had much fun sliding around and get some dirty tires. That was the moment I began to play & love dirt. It felt different from speed & tech, and for me it`s more challenging & fun than all other styles. The amount of blocks isn`t huge, but if you connect them with some typical speed/ tech blocks, you can get amazing results.
5. You have driven in several tournaments. What's your best tournament result?
My best result is of course the first place in several tournaments. You can find a list with my team achievements below:

• 1st The Stardust Cup (SDC) 04.09.2011 with RG-Esports (RAGE)
• 1st ESL DPS2: Premier League 2010 Q4 with ArcticNova eSport

• 6th ESL TMNF 1on1 Bundesliga 2010

6. You are also known as a dirt mapper. Why do you build tracks?
Why I build maps? Good question. The main point for me is that I have fun doing it, and it`s always nice if you receive some comments or awards for your work. Don`t get me wrong, I don`t do it for fame, just for fun. And it turned out that people like my maps. I want to share my ideas with the community & I like to build maps for cups and tournaments like ESL or NDC.
7. Do you have any building methods?
Not realy. When I got nothing to do, I open the editor and start building. Sometimes I got some ideas which I have to test as soon as possible. But sometimes I just build and try new things. But when I build a map for a cup or tournament, then I try to make it not that hard and less buggy. But I don`t have any special steps I always do, I just do what I like and what`s fun.
8. What is your favorite track right now? Why?
I don`t have a favorite track. There are so much nice tracks out there that I can`t decide which one`s best. I could list 20 or 30 nice tracks, but I don`t want to favour someone.
9. If you want to share some underrated map, do it here. Why do you like this map?
I don`t want to share any special map, simply because I don`t have one. I only want to say that people should try more offroad tracks. Often on servers it`s like “Dirt? Ok, I go, bb”, I always ask me why? Why people dislike dirt that much? People should be more open for dirt and give it at least one or two tries. It`s said to see in 90% FS & Tech in BOTW, very rare there is dirt on front page. I can give you a tip to try the long maps of nwt/ Awesome. For me, he`s one of the most underrated dirt builders on Tmx. Long maps aren`t the taste of the most out there, but like I sad before, just give it a try. Thanks.
10. Do you have driving or mapping idols in TrackMania?
Of course. When I started building, I only really knew pantseri & sol666. They were really famous & successful. These were my heroes when I started to build, but in the mean time, I don`t have any idols anymore. I`m well known on TmX as mapper and other know me as driver. It`s nice to see that you always get support. Pantseri & sol666 were the first people who helped me to get famous & known. They gave me tips & hints how to build, where to share my maps and what isn`t good for my image. I had building idols, but I never had drivers as idols.
11. Do you own TM2 Canyon?
Yes I have Tm2 Canyon, but I don`t really like it to be honest. I`m sick of the feedback you get while driving. I sometimes play some mini maps, but I would be more happy if I could get my 20€ back I paid for the game. The editor in Tm2 is horrible, the blocks are so huge and it seems really confusing to me. I tried to build something, but it`s not better than my first tracks in TMNF. For these reasons I still prefer TMNF, especially dirt.
12. You seem to prefer stadium to everything else but can you drive other United environments?
Of course I can, but I have more fun on Stadium then in all other environments. I also like Coast (have two maps on TMUX) & Bay. But I only play once per week Coast or Bay. Don`t know why, but Stadium just seems to be perfect for me.

1. TMNF, best racing game ever! Dirt <3 & community on TmX ftw.
2. Portal 2, awesome game where you need to think how things work. Good for training your brain.

14. What’s your idea of a perfect vacation?
I had my nearly perfect vacation last summer. I realy like to go to hollydays with my best friends. Last year, we were in turkey for 14 Days, it was just awesome. It`s a fantastic feeling to spend your freetime with the poeple you like most (exept for my parents).
