Some History
On July 12, 2020   Roche released "Tunnels & Drifts". In August 2020 the map was selected for SmurfsCup Canyon.

For months we've been playing a new variation of the map every week in Smurfen Test Evening. It's always been the first map played, and fun to discover what new variation   Roche has come up with.

  Roche has so far made 35 variations of the track. You can find them in the "Tunnels & Drifts but twist" mappack. 11 maps have made it into the rotation on the Smurfen Canyon server.

Why I made this version
Some players in the Smurfen voice chat suggested that I make an eyebo variant of the map. I asked Roche if he would be okay with it, and he gave me permission. I also thought it would be a fun challenge to put my own spin on the map.

The building process
I started with the original "Tunnels & Drifts" as a base. I dismantled the entire map and moved every block used in the map to a corner of the map base. These would serve as the ingredients for my own map. I also set aside some three-to-four block sections of the map that were very identifiable.

I decided to try using the same elements in roughly the same order as the original, but in different configurations. For example, I sometimes used mirrored versions of blocks instead of the original blocks and placed them in different rotations and positions.

After the route was completed, I decided to aim for a similar scenery style as the original with heavy usage of arena blocks as decoration below and around the map.

The GPS is a modification of the one from the original. I kept the same text and transitions and only replaced the ghost. The Intro, however, is new and of my own design.
