just checking whats going on here - idk anything about canyon but what is this?

Author gets a price but you exclude some? Why aren't you making a a public maprequest and choose the best so newcomers have a chance?

I guess that sums the intention behind the event up pretty good. ;)
The event is designed to get new maps of some of the best authors, especially for this event. Take it as some kind of "Hall of Fame" event or something like this. And as a little extra-motivation to build awesome stuff the Authors get some planets for their effort. At least that's what the first Authormania was about. ;)

But I think an event that showcases maps by new or unknown mappers could be interesting too. Only problem I have with this idea is, how will you give newcomers a chance AND secure a good quality for the maps? For an event like this you should only take high quality maps because if too much maps on the event-server are bad... noone will play because it simply isn't fun to play bad maps.

So I think it is much easier to do an event like this Authormania 2 because you can assume that mappers with some reputation will submit maps with at least good if not awesome quality.

finally gonna see a new one from this guy :)

nice selection, a few names made me question but I see why you choose 'em. to keep the map pool diverse enough for players to not get bored right away.
I'll see if I will be able to join the server a few times

Thanks for asking me to be part of this project/competition. I'm humbled to be listed with a group of mappers that are much more creative and innovative than me. This event has definitely provided me with some motivation to get back in the editor again. (y) Looking forward to trying all the maps when they're out!

Well, I miss some of my favorite mappers too.
Would be interesting to know if they were asked.
Like lolig wrote MirExpress, sic, of course ripper
and hey what about falkers ?!?
He always did fresh stuff, got awseome ideas with crazy
transitions and high class MT work^*
Maybe too hard to drive for some but never ever bad stuff.

Nevertheless, I'm curious about all the upcoming maps.
But remember a little thing, If you try to build probably legendary
maps, don't forget to prepare your dropbox links too, to make
them work for a longer time.
As you know, the public folder will be dead after the end of
march 2017.
