When ManiaExchange first launched back in August 2011, the track search had a display option called 'tiles'. This view displayed random portions of map screenshots in a tile layout. For a brief period of time it was quite a cool experiment and a creative way to find tracks by screenshot. It was short-lived and later removed.

Introducing ManiaExchange Explore
Explore is a bit like the tile view. It's a creative way to browse maps with screenshots. However, unlike the embedded tile layout, Explore is not a search engine for maps. The purpose of Explore is to showcase the map making and screenshot creativity amongst the community.

Aims & Objectives of Explore
o Showcase the creativity of the community.*
o Intuitive and creative way to find maps for TrackMania 2 and ShootMania.**

* This means that tracks without screenshots cannot be featured in Explore. While trying not to be biased towards maps that do, this is not the purpose of Explore.

** Explore is not a search engine for maps. No search options will be provided. Links to their respective map pages will be provided. QuestMania will be added at a later date.

Features
o Fluid layout powered by Twitter Bootstrap.
o Infinite scrolling.
o Sort maps by upload date (ascending and descending).
o Full screenshot displayed with links to track pages.
o Browse maps by game (TrackMania 2 & ShootMania).

It's like a museum of art, but for maps.

Looks nice, but needs definitely a sorting function.
And if you look at the SM maps, you see about 45 times the same picture "Map is made by a member of the insomnia clan". Maybe add a check function to not display identical pictures?

just spent like over 15mins looking at new and old tracks, what a easy way to play the tracks you missed...

It's definitely on the list of things to do haenry. But for now, I'd like to keep it pretty basic and lightweight. (y)

Nice idea!!!

I suggest some more sorting options. You need at least a "random" option! This is a must have to prevent always the same pictures to be displayed!
Also it would be nice to sort it by something ridiculous like length of the trackname or authornamelength or something. Just to give additional possibilities to prevent the same maps to appear over and over again (y)
