Introducing the Duo Account System | 15 Jan, 2012 |

It's well and truly overdue, but it's finally here! The new duo account system. Easily manage and create duo accounts on the fly.
Making An Old System Better We've improved the duo (trio or whatever!) system by making it possible to manage these types of accounts. Create an account with a click of a button and easily add as many members as you want. All from your account page. No more fake emails! (Remember using one on old TMX?) Because a fully registered, activated and linked user is required to create a duo account. Automatically configured permissions. This is more for moderators, but also for the benefit of the community. By enacting automatic configuration of permissions, it'll protect the community (and/or site) from rouge accounts. Those who spam, spam and spam! Or do something else they're not suppose to do! Who Can Use It? Anyone who wishes to upload collaborative maps (multiple authors). This can range from two users, to an entire team. Distribution of Awards and Comments Unfortunately we cannot distribute awards and comments to each member of a duo account. However, in the not-too-distant future, we will acknowledge your efforts by displaying a list of duo accounts you are a member of on your account page. Definitive How-to 1) Head over to the accounts portal here and log in. Alternatively, hover up to the toolbar and select 'Portal'. From the drop down, click MX Accounts. 2) On your MX account page, a new window will appear with the ability to create a new duo account. Click on this link. The window will also display accounts you own and accounts you're a member of. 3) If you clicked the button and everything worked, a username and password will be displayed. Keep a record of that information! This information is the information you log into any site within the network with. 4) Using the generated username and password, visit any site site (exchange) within the network and log in with those new credentials. Welcome to your duo account! 5) To add members (owner only), click on the 'Manage' link and find the member list window. There will be a link to add a new member. Specify a user ID and click add. If the specified user ID is valid, the user will be added. Important Notes - Passwords are not stored in plain text so they cannot be retrieved! However, an owner can generate a new password; should they forget it. - It is the owners responsibility to manage the account accordingly. - Ownership of the account cannot be changed. - You can change the display name under your account settings. - Majority of the accounts permissions will be disabled. - Abuse of the system will get your duo account disabled and permanently banned. We hope you'll find this new feature very useful! ManiaExchange |

Problem! I can't seem to upload tracks on this duo-account: when I try to do so, the error appears that I'm not linked with a maniaplanet account. I thought duo-acc's didn't need maniaplanet accounts to work? That would be quite ridiculous imo

Forzyy says: honestly i would think it would be as simple as unlinking the track id to an account, and relinking it to the duo account |

You cannot delete a duo account. Best you can do is ignore it.

EDIT: question 2 solved, question 1 remains

2 short questions (probably stupid ones, but I can't seem to get an answer on them):
1) How can you delete a duo-account (if you are the owner) 2) How do you rename the duo-account? Thanks already |

Voyager006 says: We can't transfer ownership. If the track has no awards or comments, then you can possibly delete it and then re-upload it. |

Can anyone demonstrate a duo account? Nvm, I just made two duo accounts. Wait, you cannot distribute awards and comments? MAKE IT SO YOU CAN! |

Nice. If only Nadeo followed up too and makes it possible to generate offline duo accounts
Q: What do you do in order to implement an existing track into a duo account by the same builders ? |
